A foundational principle which under girds our organization’s existences is that society has not only a shared responsibility but also a moral obligation to support individuals with developmental disabilities engage within his/her community to the greatest extent possible by supporting them to engage in meaningful productive work, to participate in the social, recreational and spiritual life of the community. It is our belief at Brightstar Homes & Services, Inc., that individuals with developmental disabilities should be granted an opportunity to develop relationships with other citizens and be treated as a valued member of society; as part of society and not apart from society. We believe that “to empower individuals equates to strengthening communities, as a whole”.
